I’ve had a pretty productive couple of days on the book and, despite overall word count being rather difficult to measure with some chapters partially written and some chapters in need of total rewrites and such, I think I can safely claim to have cracked 50,000 words of first draft.

Arbitrary and somewhat meaningless, but still generates a sense of achievement.
